Laura Annison-Chisholm

Physiotherapist

Laura graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Otago in 2022. She spent her final year as an undergraduate in Hawkes Bay, where she was able to expand her knowledge and widen her experience in both private clinics and in the community doing home visits. She then went on to spend time on the Acute Surgical Ward and in the Outpatients clinic of the Hastings Hospital. These opportunities have helped Laura to develop key skills relating to a variety of conditions, allowing her to be well equipped in providing treatment in an acute clinical setting.

Laura’s perspective to optimizing holistic patient care is to collaborate with the patient and ensure that the treatment provided targets patient goals and helps to improve function. She has a focus on heightening performance and patient capabilities, alongside aiming to implement strategies to reduce the risk of re-injury. She believes that a hands-on approach to therapy is highly beneficial in achieving the desired outcomes of rehabilitation. Laura has worked alongside a Physiotherapist as a sports medic for a regional rugby team and has had experience in managing her own injuries as she is a keen sports-woman.

In her spare time she likes to go to the gym or go on adventures in the outdoors with friends. She has a passion for almost anything sports related, with a particular love of football.
