Bryce is a New Zealand trained senior physiotherapist with a particular interest in sports medicine physiotherapy, chronic disease management and functional rehabilitation. He brings a thorough, evidence-informed approach to assessment and treatment, combining manual therapy techniques with certified functional assessment tools to give patients a clear picture of what is contributing to their symptoms and what needs to change.
Bryce is a certified Y Balance Test and Functional Movement Screen practitioner, qualifications that underpin his functional physiotherapy approach to assessment and rehabilitation planning. He has also completed Health Coach training, allowing him to support patients with longer term health and lifestyle goals alongside their physiotherapy care, particularly for conditions such as arthritis, Type 2 diabetes, weight management and maintaining physical capacity throughout life.
Clinical and sporting background
Bryce has a broad background working across both clinical and high performance sporting environments. He has worked with provincial and international rugby teams, the NZ Football U15 Men’s Team, Silverdale U21 Club Rugby and Coast Swimming Club. He has also provided physiotherapy services to Counties Manukau Netball and Northern Netball Zone, supporting their elite teams with injury prevention using Y Balance and FMS assessment tools. Currently Bryce works with elite golfers and triathletes to optimise movement performance and reduce injury risk.
A little about Bryce
Outside the clinic, Bryce and his wife Rachel have three daughters who keep them well occupied. Bryce represented New Zealand as a swimmer at the 1990 Commonwealth Games and the 1991 World Student Games, and has coached competitive age group swimming to a national level. He remains passionate about sport and competition, and has continued to compete in Masters Swimming, holding several national records and earning medals at the 2003 Masters World Championships.
That background as both an athlete and a coach shapes the way Bryce approaches physiotherapy in Auckland, with a genuine understanding of what it means to train, compete and push your body, and what it takes to get back to doing the things that matter most to you.
